OUR MISSION
LATINO YOUTH OUTREACH (LYO), a 501(c)3 designated non-profit structured to INSPIRE, EDUCATE and EMPOWER inner city Latino youths from low-income families to overcome the barriers in achieving CONTINUING EDUCATION by providing resources since 1995 to over 150,000 students, strengthening their development with Student Empowerment Workshops, Mentoring, Educational Programs in Stem and the Hispanic Achievement Award Scholarships presented to over 10,000 exceptional graduating Latin seniors for their academic excellence.

Latinos are the most rapidly growing minority group in the United States, predicted to comprise of 29% of the population by 2050, yet they have the lowest college completion rate. While Latino high school graduation rates have improved, only 25% hold Bachelor Degrees.
Latino Youth Outreach, to Inform and compel action that could bring attention to the many programs and practices making a positive difference for Latino students and leveraged our access to the national stage to make a positive contribution.
A skilled and diverse workforce is essential for the United States to remain preeminent and continue to be at the forefront of innovation by preparing Latino Students with the skills and leadership pathways for future careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (Steam)

FOUNDERS MESSAGE
One-third of Latino students in public schools live at or below the poverty level, and the majority of these students attend schools that lack the resources and guidance to help with the complexities of navigating the education process to reach higher education.

HISPANIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
LATINO YOUTH OUTREACH has empowered over 150,000 Latino students with resources and workshops for continuing education and honored over 10,000 exceptional Latino Seniors (Grade 12) with the HISPANIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS for higher education

TROPICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Since 1994, The Tropical Music Festival has featured world renowned Latino performers, groups and latin Dj’s throughout the US and Caribbean for Latin Music lovers to raise funds for scholarships in the arts and donate musical equipment to public schools music programs
URBAN SPORTS INITIATIVES
The URBAN Youth Sports Initiative supports inner-city interscholastic youth (Boys and Girls) sports programs in low-income communities by donating equipment and financial support allowing kids to be exposed to the pro-social behaviors learned in their development by teaching teamwork, healthy Lifestyles, social skills and the importance in achieving their goals.
LATINO EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOPS
Latino Youth Outreach Empowerment Workshops offers a diverse range of programs, from mentorship initiatives to educational support partnering with parents, schools, and community organizations to offer free Latino seniors from high schools in low-income communities, to participate in on-line Empowerment Workshops, designed to assist students and their families with guidance and resources to navigate the complexities of pursing higher education.
