German DuBois III, is a professional educator, nonprofit executive and fitness trainer, with over 25 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to developing youth, families and communities. Born and raised in the Bronx, NYC public school graduate, Division 1-AA Athlete, this native New Yorker brings a wealth of knowledge in both education, nonprofit management and personal training to South Florida. With a BA from Colgate University, a Masters in Education from Columbia University Teachers College, German served as Regional Director for the nonprofit organization Up2Us Sports and launched the Miami office as part of their national expansion strategy.
As founder and Executive Director of HOPE Murals, German is also well known for his passion and capacity to leverage the Power of Art to affect change in the lives of those to be in the greatest need of support. He lead the Puerto Rico Hope mural campaign, raising awareness about the ongoing struggles for survival in Puerto Rico via the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. His efforts mobilized Artists during Art Basel 2017, to paint a massive collection of 21 murals on two sides of a building in Midtown Miami, that stood six stories tall and raised funds to support ongoing relief efforts.
Mr. DuBois provides oversight in the implementation of FIU’s Education Effect university assisted/community school partnership sites, supervises partnership sites’ staff, and works closely with FIU administration. He provides support in sustaining the partnership and coordinating services; working with school leadership; monitoring progress toward achieving objectives; managing PR activities, and representing the partnership at conferences, workshops, and meetings at the local and national level.
Having presented on both national and international platforms, one of his greatest strengths is his ability to connect to both youth and adults from diverse communities. Mr. DuBois brings professional integrity to his work and lives by example, incorporating health and wellness best practices in his daily life.
Research has proven, that children who have the support of a caring nurturing adult, have greater success in navigating through many of life challenges. It is my belief that a properly trained willing adult, can be empowered to serve and fill that void in the life of a child.
Professional Development Mission:
I empower youth practitioners, whether as a Teacher, Coach or Artist, to immerse themselves in the lives of the youth they serve via the world of Creative ART & PLAY, and I challenge them to be intentionally mindful about the well-being of the lives of youth and support them with practical strategies to achieve their personal ‘goals of impact’!
